

James Thomas Williams, age 81, died peacefully surrounded by family members in his Oak Park home on April 4, 2015. He is survived by his brother, John H. (Jacquelyn) Williams and sister, Mary Ann Williams (Robert) Girard; nephew, John Scott Williams and nieces, Christine and Sharon Nottmeyer and a cousin Douglas Williams. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey and his parents Helen M. and Idris L. Williams. He was a member of Riverside Masonic Lodge #862, Riverside American Legion 5th District Council and Am Vets Post #0192. Mr. Williams was a Korean War veteran and was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force in 1956. For many years, Williams was employed by Playboy Enterprises, Inc., within the security department. During his employment with Playboy, he was transferred to several Playboy Clubs thought the United States before accepting the position of security supervisor at the Lake Geneva Club. Before retiring from Playboy, he was assigned to the Playboy Mansion, then located in Chicago, as Christy Hefner’s private personal guard. Visitation 3-7 PM, with a Funeral Service beginning at 7PM and Masonic Service beginning at 7:30 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 W. Cermak Rd., Forest Park. Interment will be held privately at the Williams family plot in Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choosing.
