Jose Lino Torres Castorena, age 77, of Oak Park, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Lino will be remembered for his tenacity and love as a husband, parent, brother, friend and neighbor. His legacy also includes his lifelong career as a civil engineer who mastered projects in both Mexico and the United States, spanning several decades. Lino was also an intellectual, a history buff, and an avid patron of the performing arts (opera, ballet, theater), as well as a lifelong sports fan (The Chicago Cubs and the Pumas UNAM FC).
Visitation and funeral services will be held on April 22, 2025, from 4-8 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 W Cermak Rd, Forest Park, IL 60130.
