MURRAY, ROBERT JOHN Robert John Murray Born September 7, 1935. Passed away peacefully in his home June 21, 2014. Loving and adored husband of 53 years to Jean (nee) O’Shaughnessy. Cherished father of Dorie (Tom) Finnegan, Bob (Barbara), Tom, Mary Carol (Jack) Grace, John, the late James, Michael (Angie), Matthew, the late William, Jean (Barton) O’Brien, Patty (Richard) Collins, Anne (Mike) Brady, Lizzy (Mike) Dine, and Peter (Briana). Proud Baba of Tommy, Liam, Mary Elizabeth, Katie, Tara, Kerry and the late Jean Marie Finnegan, Bo, Jimmy, Charlie, Patrick, and Sean Murray, Bridget, Kelly and Grace Murray, Mary Rita, Maggie and Jack Grace, Grace, Tuck and Jamey Murray, Michael, Kate, Madeline and Colin Murray, Matthew, Mary Ellen, Anna and Ryan Murray, Gavin, Elizabeth, William, Catherine and Madeline O’Brien, Richie, Nora and Brody Collins, Michael, Elizabeth (Ellie), and Erin Jude Brady, Ava and Grace Dine, and Luke O’Shaughnessy Murray. Beloved son of Robert and Dorothy. Fond brother of Maureen O’Bryan, Kathleen (Frank) Gazzolo, Denis (Pat), Carol (Jim) Bracewell, Michele (Carter) Eckert, Dan (Pat), and Deirdre (Phil) Collins. Dear brother-in-law of Dorothy (the late Bill) Lane. Favorite Uncle Bob of many nieces and nephews. Lifelong resident of Oak Park and River Forest, Fenwick High School class of 1953. “King Corn” and 43 year member of the Chicago Board of Trade. Loyal and true member of “Company A.” A man of great faith, he leaves behind a legacy of love of family and friends and devotion to Our Lady. His spirit will live on in the songs, stories, laughter, hearts, hope, and faith of his children and grandchildren. He was deeply loved and appreciated and will never be forgotten. Friends are asked to gather for the Mass of the Resurrection Thursday, June 26th 11am at St. Luke Church, 528 Lathrop, River Forest. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
