Entered this life: May 6,1931 At home with the Lord: November 1,2022
Violet passed from this life peacefully at the age of 91. Born in Chicago to the late Antonia (Starek) and Carl Schwerin, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Gerald, and dear siblings Martha (George) Schneeweiss, Carl (Alice) Schwerin, and Loretta (Joseph) Smok. Loving mother of Karla (Duane) Kuipers, Lisa (Ralph) Stella, and Dean (Stella) Hamlin. Dear Grandmother of Brian, Kevin (Katie), Stephanie, Zachary Kuipers, Rachel, Frank, and Paul Stella. Precious Great-Grandmother to her first Great-Grandson (on the way). Many nieces and nephews who were greatly loved.
Violet was a former member, Sunday school teacher, and officer at Calumet City Bible Church, and former member and treasurer at Lorimer Baptist Church in Dolton, Illinois. Violet was an overwhelmingly loving, kind, thoughtful, strong, smart, and generous person, always putting family first. She found joy in reaching out to many through sending cards and notes. She also enjoyed singing, roller skating, musical theater, watching figure skating, and cheering for the Chicago Cubs. For many years she was an invaluable support to her husband, Gerald, in his dedication to helping others, in the name of Christ, to overcome addiction problems.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 West Cermak Road, Forest Park, Illinois on Saturday, November 12, 2022.
