

Zeferino “Johnny” Padilla, 84, of Chicago, died peacefully on May 4th, 2016. Beloved husband of Manuelita, nee Gonzalez, for 58 years; loving father of Anthony CPD (Kathleen), Sandra Villarrubia, Sarita (Jacinto CPD) Gonzalez, Robert (Kim), Lisa Torres and Raymond (Gisela) Padilla; devoted grandfather of Nicole (James), Alexa, Robert, Alina, Kayli, Sydney, Maya, Camryn, Ghenna and Paz Lumea; John was a cherished uncle of the Anaya family as well as many other nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his mother Cresencia Padilla and sons Richard and Daniel Padilla. Raised in Chicago’s “Lil Italy”, Johnny proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. Upon his return from the war, he married the love of his life, “Lita”, and raise his family through the years in Chicago’s “Lil Village”. “JP” was a friend to so many and a second father to countless others. He will live on forever in the hearts of all who were touched by his soul. Visitation Monday 3-9 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 W. Cermak Rd., Forest Park.
