

BENJAMIN FRANKLIN COOK JR., 78, of Hoagland, went peacefully to be with his Lord on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at home with his wife of 60 years (whom he dearly loved) and his family by his side. Born July 16, 1933, in Terre Haute, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Gertie Cook Sr. He was a member of Blackhawk Ministries. He retired in 1983 from Slater Steel. Surviving are his wife, Clara M.; daughters, Patricia (Phillip) Boyer of Woodburn, Shirley (Jim) Roosa of Fremont, Iralene (Tim) Tramel of Carthege, Mo., Mary (Steve) Colley of Fort Wayne, and Paula (Bruce) Dunn of Fremont; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Clarence (June) Cook of Fort Wayne and Hilbert (Grace) Cook of Terre Haute. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Jacob A. Dunn; great-grandson, Phillip F. Boyer; six brothers; and three sisters. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Blackhawk Ministries, 7400 E. State Blvd., with calling one hour prior. Pastor Mike Rowland and Pastor Keith Moore officiating.
