Bonnie L. (Spade) Bruner, age 90, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023. Bonnie was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on October 12, 1932. She graduated from Central High School, Fort Wayne, and married Clarence L. Bruner on January 26,1952. They raised 3 children, Michael (Terri) Bruner, Laura (Jim) Edwards, and Patty Rugg (Jim McNulty).
Bonnie and Clarence were foster parents and gave many babies and young children a good start. Bonnie worked as a private secretary for Essex Wire. She went to college in her 50's and as the valedictorian of her class, gained a mental health technician degree at Ivy Tech. She worked as a drug and alcohol counselor at The Washington House.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, her parents, Fred and Alta Spade, in-laws, Forrest and Alma Bruner, sister-in-law, Annette Spade. In addition to her children and their spouses, she is survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer & Rebecca Slone, great-grandchildren, Noah and Clarence J (CJ), brother, Fred Spade, nephews.
