Calvin F. Schultz, 97, of Fort Wayne, entered eternal life with Our Lord on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Lutheran Life Villages. He was born October 21, 1920 in Fort Wayne to the late Fredrick H. and Amelia L. (Heine) Schultz. He attended Emmaus and St. Paul’s Schools, South Side High School, and International Business College (Business Accounting). He was deployed in the 3rd Army during World War II, receiving 7 battle stars (including The Battle of the Bulge), the Bronze Star, and Knight of the Legion of Honor medal from the French government. He married Doris E. Siebold at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in January of 1946; she preceded him in death in 2002. He was employed for 40 years with the General Electric Company in the cost accounting group. In addition to loving support of family and friends, Cal was active in the programs of St. Paul’s, Trinity English, and Emmanuel Lutheran Churches; the Lutheran Layman’s League; the Lion’s Club; and the Sunrise Optimist Club. He lived a life of focus on discipleship to Jesus Christ, the wellbeing of family and friends, his work at General Electric, needs in the community of Fort Wayne, and service to our nation – a life well-lived! He survived by children; Dale (Jennifer) Schultz of Midland, Mich., Dean (Glorianne) Schultz of Potomac Falls, Va., Beth (Thomas) Farny of Fort Wayne, and Annette (Richard) Meyer of Roanoke, Va.; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be 11:00am on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 914 W. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be 4-7pm on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne. Burial at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
