

CAROL ROSE MILLS, 71, of Fort Wayne, left us to go to her place in Heaven on Monday, July 12, 2010, at Parkview Hospital. Born Dec. 14, 1938, in Jefferson Township, Allen County, she was the youngest of 12 children and daughter of the late Elmer "Ike" and Cecilia (Mourrey) Oberley. She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. She was a former bookkeeper at Schlatter Hardware. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. "Carol had a long series of health problems that were part of her adult life, including a liver transplant on Sept. 17, 2004. Her positive attitude was maintained by her allegiance to her Christian faith and her love for all living things. She will be missed by her family and friends as they were an integral part of her daily life." Surviving are her husband, of 47 years, Jerry D.; daughter, Michelle Ann (Bradley) Davies; son, Michael Alan Mills; grandchildren whom she loved dearly and were always in her thoughts and activities, Justin Stowers, Danielle, Stephanie, Nicholas, and Christopher Abouhalkah; sisters, Mary Ann Walker and Jeanette Castle; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, July, 16, 2010, at St. Jude Catholic Church corner of Randallia and State, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Father Robert D'Souza officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July, 15, 2010, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with Rosary at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Entombment in Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Masses or Catholic Social Services.
