Carolyn Ann (Fry) Houser

Carolyn Ann (Fry) Houser, 96, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. She was born in Payne, Ohio on April 2, 1928 to the late Walter F. and Nellie (Ruger) Fry. She graduated from Payne High School in 1946 and Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1950. Carolyn was employed at Lutheran Hospital and Parkview Hospital as a Registered Nurse for more than 38 years. She concluded her service at Parkview Hospital as Assistant Director of Nursing in 1989. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne and Parkview Ambassadors. She is survived by three sons, Lynn E. Houser of Satsuma, Florida, Brian D. (Jan Sirois) Houser, and Gregory T. (Dawn) Houser, both of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren, Scott (Karen), Bradley (Joanne Kolkman), Andrew (Amy), Nick, Stephanie (Mark) Miller, Taylor (Will Ridenour), and Brian; 11 great-grandchildren, Samantha, Lucy, Robert, Maryanna, Cole, Morgan, Abigail, Cora, Archer, Olivia, and Natalie; and sister, Kay (Bill) Tittel, of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Houser in 2007; son, Mark E. Houser in 1969; three sisters, Mildred Wilson, Jean Gebhart, and Mary King; and daughter-in-laws, Tammy and Robin. Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne.
