REV. CHARLES FELTON, 88, of Fort Wayne, went home to our Lord on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013. Born and baptized into God's family in Akron, Ohio, Charles graduated from Concordia Lutheran Academy, Fort Wayne in 1942; Concordia Junior College, Fort Wayne, in 1944; and Concordia Senior College, St. Louis, Mo., in 1949. Charles met Eileen Borchelt at a Concordia football homecoming game in 1947, and they were married at Zion Lutheran Church, in Fort Wayne shortly after his 1949 graduation from the seminary. Charles was ordained as a Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod pastor in Utica, S.D., and served churches in Watsonville, Calif., Portland, Ore., Richmond, Calif. and South Bend, Ind. Upon retirement, Charles and Eileen moved to Fort Wayne in 1991. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eileen (Borchelt) Felton; sons, Paul (Elizabeth) Felton of St. Louis, David Felton of South Bend and Steven (Faith) Felton of Fort Wayne; and grandchildren, Kyle, Isaiah, Samuel, Ezekiel, Charity, and Jacob. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustav and Effie Felton; daughter, Sandra Felton-Roberts; brother, Frederick Felton; and sister, Grace Riehl. Service is 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran High School, Fort Wayne, Valparaiso University c/o the Sandra Felton-Roberts scholarship fund, Valparaiso, Ind. or donor's choice.
