Charles E. "Charlie" Fleck, 92, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed peacefully in to eternal life on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Charlie was born on November 27, 1931 in North Manchester, Indiana, a son of the late Elmer and Hazel (Mowrer) Fleck. He graduated from Chester High School and Indiana Tech. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. Charlie was an electrical engineer working at and retiring from Magnavox. After retirement, he opened and operated Sylvia's Antique Treasures in New Haven. Charlie greatly enjoyed sharing with others his interest and love of antiques. You could often find him speaking about the subject on the radio or at local festivals. He will be remembered as a very meticulous person and proud of his work. He was a long-time member at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Fort Wayne. Surviving family include his dear sister, Mary Lois Chamberlain; sister-in-laws, Kate Purdy and Jean Fleck; brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Jane Corso; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Charlie was preceded in passing by the love of his life and wife of 59 years, Sylvia (Corso) Fleck; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia (George) Airgood; brother and sister-in-law, Joe (Dorothy) Purdy; and brothers, Wilbur Purdy and George "Bud" Fleck. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Road, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials in Charlie's memory for masses or to Heartland Hospice. Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, Fort Wayne is caring for arrangements.
