David “Dave” Earl Smith, 47, of Leo, passed away on April 9, 2019. He was born to Marilyn (Dauscher) Smith and the late Vern Earl Smith in Fort Wayne, IN on February 15, 1972. Dave loved fishing, his pets, and his family. Along with his mother, Dave is survived by his children, Chelsey and Jonathan Smith; step-son, Bryce Holmes; sister, Tammy (Todd) Jewett; nieces and nephews, Shantel Capps, Kristina Capps, Chayse Capps, and Kody Capps; great-nephew and great-nieces, Coltyn Sitcler, Evelynn and Veronica Norris; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Vern Smith. Calling will be on Monday, April 15, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home (6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46835). Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with calling one hour prior. Burial will follow at Leo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health, or Allen County ASPCA.
