

David B. Widenhofer, 66, who was born in Fort Wayne on March 31, 1945, entered into his eternal home on Wednesday, June 8, 2011. He was the son of the late Norman and Esther Widenhofer. He battled cancer for six years and now rests in peace with his Savior. He was the Executive Director of Concordia Lutheran High School from 1992 to 2009, when he retired to continue his battle with cancer. He devoted his life’s work to promoting secondary Christian education.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Zeddies), sons, Steven (Melissa) Widenhofer of Germantown, MD; Jeffrey (Jenn) Widenhofer of Brooklyn, NY and Jeremy (Kristin) Widenhofer of Reston, VA.; grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua, Lia, Layla, Madeline and Keegan Widenhofer; brothers, Gerald (Ronelle) Widenhofer of Fort Wayne, and Stephen (Debra) Widenhofer of Decatur, Il; mother-in-law, Ruth Zeddies of Fort Wayne as well as brothers and sisters-in-laws, uncles, Rev. Carl Barth and Rev. Walter Barth, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3425 Crescent Ave. with Rev. Dr. Larry Merino and Rev. Dr. Thomas Ahlersmeyer officiating. Interment will be at Concordia Cemetery Gardens following the service. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2011 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road.
