Edward W. Ulshafer, Jr., 87, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023. He was born on April 10, 1936 in South Whitley, Indiana, a son of the late Edward W. and Eloise (Sweeney) Ulshafer, Sr. He served in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper. He worked for over 40 years at International Harvester and Navistar. He enjoyed traveling, Purdue, and playing golf. Surviving family include his children, Cheryl (Kevin) Rogers, Brenda (Mark) Steenport, Janet (Scott) Tinkel, Edward (Linda) Ulshafer, and Gregory (Michelle) Ulshafer; sister, Loretta Easterday; brothers, Terry and Tom Ulshafer; and numerous grand and great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by wife, Marilyn (Miller) Ulshafer; and brothers, Ben, Jack, and Jim Ulshafer. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am on Friday, June 16, 2023 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 1502 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be directed to St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Promedica Hospice, or Towne House Retirement Community.
