

FRANKLIN J. EBETINO, 73, passed away unexpectedly Friday January 7, 2022 while visiting family in Venice, Florida. Born in Fort Wayne and a graduate of Indiana University, he taught science and foreign language at Miami Middle School (1973-1979) and Northrop High School until he retired in 2005 where he served as head of the Foreign Language Department. Frank was an avid world traveler on all continents including Antarctica and frequently arranged exotic travel for others. He was an Eagle Scout, a founding board member of the Indiana Hunter Education Association, he volunteered his time and skills to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and 4-H Shooting Sports for nearly four decades. His other passions included wildlife conservation, photography, gourmet cooking, skiing, scuba diving, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his sons, Francisco (Jennifer) Ebetino of Golden, CO. and Ricardo Ebetino of San Diego, CA; granddaughters, Gabriella, Elysse and Violet; grandson Oliver; brother Bernard (Patrica) Ebetino; sisters Mary Ann (David) Weikel, Rosalie Sorg. He was preceded in death by his adored wife, Violet Ebetino, son Salvatore Ebetino; his parents, Salvatore and Rosemary (Kintz) Ebetino and brother Thomas Ebetino. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials may be made to the following organizations: The Hope Center, Salud Que Transforma USA, Inc, Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital, MD Anderson, Houston, 4-H, or Boy Scouts of America.
