Fred C. Mathews Jr., 72, of Fort Wayne, passed away on February 2, 2017 in Yuma, Arizona. Born on September 6, 1944, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Fred C. and Edna M. Mathews Sr. He proudly served his country in the Air Force. Fred was an entrepreneur and was involved in many businesses, the latest of which was Aristoline Cabinets. He retired in 2000, and spent his winters in Yuma, Arizona.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janet Mathews; sons, Todd Mathews and Troy Mathews; sister, Deb (Bob) Kendall.
Funeral service will be 1:30pm, Saturday, February 11, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling from 11:30am, until time of service. Calling will also be held from 4 to 8pm, Friday, February 10, at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to Prison Impact Ministries. An additional memorial service will take place in Yuma, Arizona, at a later date.
