GERALD "Jerry" L. GREENE, 67, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018. Born on Aug. 7, 1951 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Oscar and Katherine (Springer) Greene. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. He retired from the City of Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department in 2008. Jerry was an accomplished carpenter and enjoyed fishing, bowling, woodworking, and IU basketball. He was a devoted family man whose precious family and dear friends meant the world to him.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Chris A (Renner) Greene; children, Sarah L (Phillip) Miller, and Ryan J (Jacqueline) Greene; grandchildren, Jackson, Harrison, and Emersyn Miller; siblings, Jeanne Greene, Debra Greene, David Greene, and Jim (Susan) Greene; one niece and three nephews.
Memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 2435 Engle Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior to the memorial service at the church. Visitation also from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, or the Alzheimer Disease Research in Pathology through the Indiana University School of Medicine, Department of Pathology.
