GLORIA MARGUERITE BYERS, 78, of Fort Wayne, died on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital. Born Dec. 11, 1932, in Portland, Ind., she was the daughter of the late George Jacob and Gertrude Mae Hathaway. She was a member of Northridge Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, John Lloyd; daughter, Judith Ann (Jeffrey) Riecken of Fort Wayne; son, John George (Victoria) Byers of Fort Wayne; grandchildren which includes, Robert (Jennifer Foster) Harmeyer and Jeffrey (Amy) Riecken; 13 great-grandchild ren; and sister, Lola Betty (Joe) Hayes of Summerville, S.C. She was also preceded in death by her eight sisters and brothers. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at Northridge Baptist Church, 1300 E. Cook Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Oct. 26, 2011, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Preferred memorials to the church.
