Gordon O. Johnson, 91, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024. Gordon was born on February 27, 1933 in Muskegon, Michigan, a son of the late Oscar E. and Maureen (Bowen) Johnson. He graduated from Muskegon Heights High School where he was active in a number of different sports. He attended Michigan State University. Gordon served in the U.S. Army in Japan from 1956-1957. He worked for North American Van Line for 10 years, IBM for six years, and retired from Summit Bank after 22 years. He was a member and active at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne. He served on the board of the Embassy Center, Mental Health America of Northeast Indiana, Channel 39, and Anthony Wayne Services. Gordon was extremely proud of his family and loved them all very much. Surviving family include his wife, Norma Weeda; children, Jeff Johnson and Jill Merle; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Gordon was preceded in passing by his wife, Judith M. (Blosser) Johnson; and brother, Robert B. Johnson. A memorial service will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at The Towne House Retirement Community, 2209 Saint Joe Center Road, Fort Wayne with a gathering of family and friends beginning one hour prior.
