Helen B. Spencer, 90, of Fort Wayne, died on October 4, 2014. Born on December 1, 1923, in Edgerton, she was a daughter of the late Ora and Mildred Moore. She retired from GTE in 1982 after 25 years of service, and was a member of the GTE Employees Club. Helen is survived by her daughters, Louise Harper and Carol (Benjamin) Land, both of Fort Wayne; sisters, Carolyn Bruggeman, of Fort Wayne, Marolyn Rosswurm, of Payne, Ohio; brothers, Eugene Moore and Edward Moore, both of Payne, Ohio; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Spencer, in 1988; daughter, Sharon Scarpa; sister, Loretta Dodane; and brother, Marion Moore. Funeral service will be 1:00pm Wednesday, October 8, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne with calling from 11am to 1pm, prior to service. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to Parkview Home Health and Hospice or the American Heart Association.
