Janet was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, was a graduate of Concordia Lutheran High School, Fort Wayne, and received a business degree from IPFW, and worked for Ace Radiator as a Bookkeeper, for more than 27 years. She was a fun and loving sister, aunt, and friend who loved movies, music, theatre, and the arts. Janet is survived by her sister, Penny (John) Wood; nieces, Carey (Jeff) King, Dana (Cody) Statler, Haley (Ben) Heath, and Kelly (Garrett) Wiejak; nephew, Shawn (Stacey) Shearer; as well as 13 great-nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Shearer.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home (6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne), with calling one hour prior, Rev. Mark Neubacher officiating. Calling will also be from 6 to 8pm on Friday, July 9, 2021, at the funeral home.
Memorial donations in Janet's honor may be directed to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, or Concordia Lutheran High School Scholarship Fund.
