JANICE A. FIRKS, 91, of Fort Wayne, died on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Parkview North Hospital. She was Born on Oct. 4, 1919, in Decatur, Ill. She retired in 2002 from Peerless Dry Cleaners at South gate and had previously worked for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles Fort Wayne - Main License Branch. Surviving are her daughters, Sally Stanton of Fort Wayne and Dawn Squires of Las Vegas, Nev.; son, Ronald Firks of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Jack Hale of Albuquerque, N.M. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William; and son, Sonny Mattison. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior.
