Lester B "Bud" Marker, Jr., 89, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, with his family by his side. Bud was born on July 4, 1934 in Fort Wayne, a son of the late Lester B and Winifred (Snyder) Marker, Sr. He was a graduate of South Side High School and Butler University. He served the country in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. He then worked for Fishering & Marker Insurance and later operated his own business, Marker Insurance Service. He was a member at Memorial Baptist Church and First Baptist Church where he also served in facility maintenance. In his free time, he enjoyed doing puzzles, Bible study, and a yearly trip to the Indiana State Fair, but he especially loved spending time with and supporting his family. Surviving family include his son, Tim (Lisa) Marker; grandchildren, Branden (Lily), Kaden, and Rylen Marker; a great-granddaughter, Amelia; brother, Ron (Elaine) Marker; and two nephews. Besides his parents, Bud was preceded in passing by his wife, Ardene (Smith) Marker, and a nephew. A funeral service will be 1:00 pm on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials in Bud's name may be made to First Baptist Church, Fort Wayne.
