Linda Lindeman, 83, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on January 28, 2025. Linda grew up on a family farm in Hamilton, Indiana, as the middle child of Clay L. Lemmon and M. Margaret (Huff) Troyer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Ammon D. Troyer, and her siblings: Sharon (Ted) Perna, Louis (Janet) Lemmon, Lucie (Ralph) Wilcoxson, James Lemmon, and her half-sister Luann Reade. She was also preceded by her in-laws, Bob (Mildred) Lindeman, Norma Grable, Donna Fudge, and Carl Lindeman. Linda was married to William D. Lindeman for 54 years. Their relationship was full of love, laughter, and the occasional good-natured annoyance. William spoiled her by making her coffee every morning and iced tea every evening. He passed away in 2020, leaving an emptiness in her life. She is survived by her daughters, Laura (Andrew) Szymanski of Lombard, IL, and Sarah (Daniel) Richardt of Zionsville, IN; grandchildren Leah Richardt, Madelynn (Dimitri Bonner) Richardt, Olivia Szymanski, Matthew Szymanski, and Allison Szymanski; and great-grandson, Grey Bonner. Linda is also survived by her in-laws Richard (Jeanne) Lindeman, Mary Lindeman, and John Lindeman, as well as 13 nieces, 9 nephews, and her niece Elizabeth Sepponen, who helped care for her. Linda worked as a bookkeeper, applying her remarkable math skills and sharp business mind at Central Soya, Lincoln Life, and numerous small businesses. Her talent for organization and detail was unmatched, and she inherited her family's stubbornness honestly. A long-time, faithful member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Linda regularly watched Worship Anew to catch a glimpse of her late husband, Bill, singing in the choir. Though she was often quiet, Linda's smile and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday, February 2, 2025, and from 10:00 am until the time of the service Monday at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St Joe Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46825. Funeral services will begin at 10:45 am at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lindenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please send memorials to Worship Anew.
