M. KATHLEEN (LEICHTY) SPIERING, 68, of Fort Wayne, died on Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at Parkview North Hospital. Born Feb. 11, 1942, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Martha (Dix) Leichty. She had been a secretary for Medical Protective Insurance Co. and also Brotherhood -Mutual Insurance Co. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and the Red Hat Society. Surviving are her husband, Arnold; daughter, Melissa (Steven) Burch of Lafayette; son, Geoffrey Spiering of Fort Wayne; one grandson; one granddaughter; and brother, David Leichty of Grabill. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 7211 Stellhorn Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Paul Offhaus officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Burial in Leo Memorial Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Messiah Lutheran Church or Mennonite Central Committee.
