Mae Dell Arnold, 92, of Fort Wayne, Indiana was called home by the Lord on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. She was born in Texas, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Cecil D. and Edith R. (Edwards) Hays. She studied Bookkeeping at Eastern Kentucky University. She later studied Geriatrics Tech and was employed by Golden Years Homestead. She answered a call to and ultimately retired as a floor supervisor at the University of Kentucky Hospital. She was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and also attended Calvary Heights Baptist Church while in Lexington, Kentucky. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, and traveling. She is survived by her three children, grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by her brothers, Norwood and Thomas Hays. A graveside service will 11:00 am on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, 2200 Old Perryville Loop, Springfield, Kentucky 40069 with a gathering of family and friends following at the Bethlehem Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, online at www.nationalmssociety.org and/or the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
