Mary Jane (Winkler) Norris, was welcomed into the loving arms of her heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Mary was born on February 13, 1923, and was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence J. and Minnie B. (Einsiedel) Winkler. Mary worked at General Electric during World War II and cleaned homes for many years. She was a loving homemaker, wife, grandmother, and a life-long lover of games as she spent countless hours enjoying euchre, gin rummy, and Go-fish. Her competitive spirit was matched only by her joy in bringing loved ones together. An avid bowler, Mary's love for the sport was contagious and many memories were made at the lanes. She found joy in nurturing her grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially in the kitchen by teaching the basics of baking her signature cookies and pies. Mary was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church and Faith Lutheran Church, and a longtime proud member of the Southmore Singers. Mary will be missed greatly by everyone she met but her kindness and welcoming spirit and love will be remembered by all. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband, Earl E. Norris; two brothers, Lawrence and Robert Winkler; sister, Katherine (Winkler) Handlin; and son-in-law, Norman E Grayless. She is survived by daughter, Cheryl A. (Norris) Grayless; granddaughters, Amy (Paul) Grayless Shuler and Victoria (Rebeca Conti) Grayless; three great-grandchildren, Danielle (Ryan) Shuler Hoover, Madison (Connor) Shuler Menshy, and Brenden Shuler; and five great great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne with visitation two hours prior. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials in Mary Jane's memory may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne.
