MICHAEL A. RODKEY, 73, of Fort Wayne, died on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. Born April 5, 1939, in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of the late Jack & Eileen Allan III. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp.; coached various youth soccer leagues in Fort Wayne for many years; volunteered at Science Central and the Botanical Conservatory Gardens; and was a member of American Legion Post 47. He received his BSEE from the University of Maryland and his MSBA from Indiana University. He retired in 2002 from Raytheon as an Electrical Engineer after 32 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Frances M.; daughters, Katharine (Charles) Wurst and Becky (Chris) Carder, both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Casey, Elizabeth, Anna and Haley Wurst, and Jack Carder; brother, John (Janet) Allan IV of Littlestown, Pa.; and sisters, Mary Ann (John) Chism of Collegeville, Pa. and Lee (Walter) Lindenlaub of Los Angeles, Calif. No service. A gathering is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Preferred memorials to The Salvation Army or Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home.
