

He immigrated as a refugee to the United States in 2008. He naturalized as a proud, U.S. citizen with his wife by his side. During his life, he never ceased to advocate for the rights of his people and help fellow refugees and members of his Fort Wayne community who were in need. In his free time, Myo Myint enjoyed reading, writing, and gardening with his dogs, Rockie and Izzy nearby.
Myo Myint passed away on February 9th, 2026 at the age of 63. He is preceded in death by his father, Tin Myint; and siblings Win Myint, Mee Mee Aye, Aung Myint, Tun Myint and Hla Myint. Survived by his loving wife, Karen Bender; Mother, Daw Kyi; siblings, Swe Zin Aye, Kyaw Kyaw Myint (Kay Khine Soe Min), Thin Aye Htoo (Ye Maw Htoo) Linn Linn Aye(Htay Win); nine nieces and nephews; four children by marriage; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services and burial will be held at the Muslim Community Help Center Cemetery Association, 8631 Decatur Rd. Fort Wayne IN. Visitation begins at 11:30 am on Thursday, February 12th, all are welcome.
