NELLIE JO (NASH) CREEL, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Woodview Health care after an eight year stay. Born Feb. 16, 1923, in Blount County, Al., she was the daughter of the late Luther and Rose Hyde. Jo retired after many years working in retail, with the last 17 years as manager of Bill's Dollar Store. She set many sales records and trained several future store managers. Surviving are her son, Jimmy (Gloria) Nash of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Fred (Kathleen Kemme) Nash, Elizabeth Nash and Jennifer Nash; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Dever, Nathaniel, and Sarah Kemme Nash, all of Fort Wayne; sisters, Ladora Painter and Rosa Lee Hootin; brothers, Beecher Hyde, James L. Hyde and Ben Hyde, all of Alabama; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orman "Fuzz" Creel; ex-husband, Fred "Ted" Nash; sister, Mildred Shirley; and brother, J. B. Hyde. Memorial service will be held at a later date with a private burial. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Oneonta, Ala. Memorials to Oneonta Church of Christ, 202 2nd Ave., Oneonta, AL 35121.
