Norma Jean Peters

NORMA JEAN PETERS, 84, was called to her eternal home on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014. She was born Feb. 21, 1929 in Kankakee, Ill. the daughter of Zelpha E. and Arthur E. Hasbargen. She graduated from St. Paul's Lutheran Grade School, Kankakee High School and Silver Cross Hospital School of Nursing, Joliet, Ill. She retired from Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee, after 20 years of service. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Kankakee, for 70 years and a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, for 14 years. She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Barry) Chrzan of Fort Wayne, and Laurie Schultz of Davenport, Iowa; a brother, Arthur Hasbargen of Valparaiso; grandchildren, Zachary and Madeline Chrzan of Fort Wayne, Stephanie Kozlowski, Katelyn and Alexander Schultz of Davenport, Iowa; and two step-grandchildren, Jacob Chrzan and Bailey Campbell of Fort Wane. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, William C. Peters. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Kankakee, Ill., with visitation two hours prior. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens, Kankakee, Ill. Memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, Ind.
