Norma J. Grote Young

NORMA J. YOUNG, 85, of Fort Wayne, died on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at Village Oaks. Born May 17, 1926, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Hilma Grote. She and her husband, Kenneth B., owned Young's Greenhouse & Flowers. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid at the church, and Panorama Women's Club. "She was a wonderful wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend, who continually shared her faith and love for Jesus." Surviving are her son, Kenneth B. (Sandy) Young II of Fort Wayne; daughters, Kathleen A. (Luther) Dennis of Chapel Hill, N.C. and Sandra L. (Steve) Rutter of Eau Clair, Wis.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Elinor Doenges of Fort Wayne; She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, in 1996; and daughter, Laura J. Jackson, in 2008. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1126 S. Barr St., with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Peter Cage officiating. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Entombment in Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Preferred memorials to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
