RONALD B. ROBERTS, 75, of Fort Wayne, died on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Dupont Hospital. Born on Jan. 13, 1935, in Janes-ville, Wis., the U.S. Army Korean War veteran retired from Knight-Ridder as a Communications Installation Specialist. After retirement, he worked in the clubhouse at Shoaff Park Golf Course. He began his career as a DJ in Marchfield, Wis. He was a DJ at WOWO here in Fort Wayne, as well as in Toledo, Ohio; Findlay, Ohio; and Battle Creek, Mich. He was also a weatherman at WANE TV in Fort Wayne and Rhinelander, Wis. One of the joys of Ron's life was the Rockman reunion held every July in Mosinee, Wis., as well as high school reunions, fishing and golfing. He is survived by his wife, Nora L.; daughter, Kelly Ann Hale of Austin, Texas; son-in-law, Timothy Hale of Midland, Mich.; grandchildren, Ashley Hale, Emily Hale and Lauryn Hale; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Karen (Bob) Engelhard of Stevens Point, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Justin Parker Beebe and Dorothy (Rockman). Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road in Fort Wayne. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial in Mosinee, Wis. at a later date. Preferred memorials to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
