

VICTOR F. MEYER SR., 92, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Lake George, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, with his loving wife of 67 years by his side at Heritage Park Nursing Home. He graduated from Purdue Pharmacy School; was a member of Lake George Lutheran Chapel, American Legion Post 47, 40 & 8; and was a lifetime member of V.F.W. 4257. He served in the Army Medical Corp during World War II. He had been a pharmacist for over 50 years and retired in 1995 from Hook's Drug Co. as a Pharmacist. "He was an avid Purdue fan and NASCAR fan." Surviving are his wife, Gloria C.; sons, Victor F. (Beverly) Meyer Jr. and Duane E. (Marsha) Meyer, both of Fort Wayne; daughter, Nancy Kay Wetmore of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Thomas J. Wetmore, Dean Meyer, Kevin Meyer, Amy Cochran, Shelley Zent; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Hetfield of Fort Wayne; daughter-in-law, Sally Meyer; and son-in-law, Thomas C. Wetmore. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Preferred memorials to Lake George Lutheran Chapel.
