Christel Irmgard Duran

March 28, 1944 – February 24, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Oma, and Great Oma - Christel Irmgard Duran, who left this world on February 24, 2025. Christel was born on March 28, 1944, in Idar-Oberstein, Germany, and was raised there before meeting the love of her life, Frank Duran, at an Elvis concert in 1968. The two were married on January 17, 1969, and shared a beautiful life together, filled with love and laughter.

Christel and Frank moved to Widefield, Colorado, where they raised many children, including their own: Michelle Freng, Julee O'Hair, and Christopher Duran. Christel was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in creating a beautiful home. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, and Oma. Nothing meant more to her than her family.

In addition to her role as a mother, Christel also opened her heart and home as a foster mom, providing love and care to many children over the years. Her nurturing spirit was evident in everything she did, and she poured her heart into making others feel loved and valued.

Christel had a strong faith in the Lord, and it brings us comfort knowing she is now reunited with Frank in heaven. We will miss our cherished phone calls, where we would catch up on life, but we take peace in the memories we shared.

Christel’s love and light will be forever missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A ceremony will be held to honor her memory on March 10th at 10am, at Dove-Witt 6630 S U.S. Hwy 85 87, Fountain, CO 80817

A visitation for Christel will be held Monday, March 10, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Dove Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. US HWY 85/87, Fountain, CO 80817.

A funeral service will occur Monday, March 10, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 6630 S. US HWY 85/87, Fountain, CO 80817.

A committal service will occur Monday, March 10, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80925.

A reception will occur Monday, March 10, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at American Legion Post 38, 6685 Southmoor Dr., Fountain, CO.
