

Elizabeth L.(Sweazy) Taylor, 69, of Colorado Springs, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016 at home with her devoted husband, Mark by her side. She was born May 29, 1947, the daughter of the late Albert H. Sweazy and Letha Mae (Sweazy) Greenlee. She graduated from Highlands High School in Ault, Colorado in 1966. Elizabeth was devoted to her family and accompanied her husband on his overseas and stateside assignments while he served in the U.S. Air Force. As a couple, Liz and Mark volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America for 35 years in various positions in both Germany and here in the United States. Liz was also on the Hanover PTO and served on the school board. She was an avid reader of a variety of literature and enjoyed watching wildlife in their natural environments. She was always there as a listening ear to family and friends who meant the world to her. Surviving are her loving husband of 44 years, Mark A. Taylor; her children Michal (Dominica) Taylor and Leticia Taylor. She is also survived by her siblings, Irene Bentley, Arthur Sweazy (Dolly), Alberta Lopeman, LuElla Morrison (Roland), Edward Sweazy (Dominique), Richard Sweazy (Amy), and Charles Sweazy (Jill). Also mourning her loss are her beloved grandsons PJ and Pacey Ngo and step granddaughters Aarika Baca and Tina Montiel and numerous nieces and nephews. She was anxiously anticipating the birth of her first great grandchild later this year. There will be no viewing and services will be held at Hanover High School on September 4, at 2:00 pm. Dove-Witte Family Mortuary, 6630 S. Highway 85-87, Fountain, Colorado 80817 is in charge of arrangements.
