Elsa became a naturalized US citizen after moving to Alaska with her husband and children. Elsa raised 2 children Harvey and Susanne, “she was the best mother in the world the most loving and giving.”
A devoted homemaker Elsa possessed many talents that brought joy to her family and friends. She was a skilled seamstress an avid gardener, and a master of crochet and knitting, she created beautiful handmade blankets, and little crafty items even teaching her grandchild how to crochet and knit. She was legendary in the kitchen creating her authentic German meals which the family loved and couldn’t get enough of. She loved playing mahjongg, going to a weekly lunch date, and visiting Cripple Creek to play the slots with her lady friends.
Elsa’s greatest joy came from being “Oma” to her grandchildren Austin Allen Able and Mia Miller. Their visits and phone calls were the highlights of her days, and she loved them deeply and was immensely proud of each one.
Elsa will be remembered for her acceptance, courage, and motherly wisdom. She will be greatly missed by those that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Furrel; her brothers Hans, Erich, Willi, Heini and Werner.
Elsa is survived by her daughter Susanne Able, her son Harvey Miller and her sister Lisa Weiss in Canada.
