

Bryce was born July 1, 1946 in Lusk, Wyoming to Adin Lewis and Edna Mae Abel. He grew up on a ranch in northwest Nebraska and loved the ranching life. In 1964 he graduated from Kimball County High School and received his bachelors degree in Agri-Business from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, in 1969. Bryce served as an officer in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971. He then moved to Colorado Springs and married Carolyn Ramsfield in 1972. His career at Kaman Sciences/ITT Industries began in the fall of 1972 and continued until his retirement in 2008.
Bryce was an avid football fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Denver Broncos. He loved spending time with family, golfing, RVing, and writing poems for the many people in his life. His great sense of humor never left him.
Bryce is survived by his wife Carolyn; daughters Amy (Jeff) Flavin of Hays, KS, and Darcey (Cory) Pierce of Longmont, CO; three siblings – Adrienne (Marvin) Rone, Gayle (Jack) Hytrek, and twin brother Bruce (Mary Jane) Abel. He is also survived by five grandchildren - Megan, Alex, and Jordyn Flavin; and Hailey and Scott Pierce. Bryce was preceded in death by his parents, sister Annie and brother Darold.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 3rd, at Faith Lutheran Church, 315 Security Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or designated to go to a memorial plaque at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
