

Judith Ann (Remling) Christian, longtime resident and former Mayor of Fountain, died unexpectedly April 11, 2015. Judy was born Jan. 7, 1947 in La Junta, CO to Robert and Geraldine Remling. She spent her childhood in Las Animas, CO and moved to Security, CO when she was 13. She was a graduate of Widefield HS, class of 1965.Judy married Richard J. Christian, II on June 26, 1965. They were married for forty-six years before Richard died in 2011. Judy was the proud mother of four sons and both she and her husband dedicated their lives to community service and specifically to the city of Fountain. Judy served on the Fountain City Council from 1977 until she became Mayor of Fountain in 1989. She served as Mayor until 1997. She was also the first woman to be named as President of the Fountain Chamber of Commerce, was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, served on the Fountain Planning Commission, Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments, E911, and the Emergency Housing Taskforce. Judy was a beloved member of her family and enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling, gambling, fishing, and was always the life of her many parties & family gatherings. Most recently, she was the Treasurer for her high school reunion committee and enjoyed being a part of that. Judy is survived by her sons, Richard J Christian III, Carl (Wendy) Christian, Shane (Chris) Christian-Powell, Robert (Tracy) Christian, and step-daughter Chana (Troy) Trimble and Jimmy (Beckie) Heckman, who were like family to Judy & Richard. She was grandmother to eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also, two sisters, Carol (Charlie) Trujillo & Betty (Jack) Bell, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Christian Boyd, and a brother-in-law, George (Drucille) Christian and many nieces and nephews. Judy had many close friends whom she leaves behind such as Dick & Marlene Heikes, Ruth Hyatte and she was a host home provider for Donald & Brian for many years. A visitation will take place at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. US Highway 85-87, on Friday, April 17th from 5-8pm. The funeral service will be at Pikes Peak Christian Church, 4955 Bradley Rd, Colorado Springs, on Saturday, April 18th at 1pm.
