Karl Morgan Feller of Colorado Springs passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at the age of 72 at home surrounded by his family. Mr. Feller was born February 22, 1948, in Pittsburgh, PA and was the only son of the late Albert W. Feller and the late Eileen Morgan Feller. He was the loving husband of 49 years to Yvonne (Bonnie) Marez of Pueblo, CO. Father to Christopher Feller and Karla (Sean) Burke. 3 grand-children: Gabrielle; Steven; and Zachary; 3 great-grand-children: Elizabeth; Evangleen and Charlie.
He is also survived by his step mother Joanna Feller; step sister Jo Lynn (Robert) Steinman; half-brothers William (Karla) Feller; Charles (Cyndi) Feller; and half-sister Nancy (Donald) Buszinski.
Mr. Feller graduated from Peters Township High School in 1966 and enlisted U.S. Navy in 1968. He honorably served in a variety of locations to include: Groton, CT; Norfolk, VA, San Diego, CA; Orlando, FL, Bremerton, WA, and Gaeta, Italy and onboard USS Benjamin Franklin (SSBN-640); USS Bluefish (SSN-675); USS Puget Sound (AD-39) and USS Texas (CGN-39). He quickly advanced though the enlisted ranks to a Machinist Mate Chief Petty Officer (MMC) and received a commission as Limited Duty Officer (LDO). In 1988 he retired as a Lt. from active duty and became a permanent resident of Colorado Springs, CO. He graduated Magnum Cum Laude with a B.S.M.E.T. from CSU Pueblo in 1993.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 12 noon at Pikes Peak Christian Church followed by a gravesite ceremony service with full military honors at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested donations be made in Mr. Feller's name to the United States Navy Memorial or the WoundedWarriorProject.org.
