

Kerry is survived by his children; Kellie Norman (Scott), Connie Shaner (Bill) and Kevin Coleman; his sister, Sharon Kelly; his brother, Byron Coleman (Kris); and his grandchildren; Tanner, Mason, Ian and Elliana Norman, Kyra and Reagan Shaner, and Caleb, Jared, Aislin and Brodie Coleman. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary S. Coleman and his parents, Bonnie and Lee Coleman.
Kerry was born in Colorado Springs on December 22, 1949. He graduated from Widefield High School in 1968. Kerry was an amazing athlete and received a football scholarship to attend Colorado State University. On June 26, 1970, he married Mary, his high school sweetheart. Kerry was drafted into the military and served in the Navy during Vietnam. After leaving the military, Kerry returned to Colorado Springs where he later started his career with the Colorado Springs Fire Department, retiring in July 2006.
Kerry was a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, friend, and an avid golfer. He enjoyed going to Cripple Creek with his wife and attending all his children’s and grandchildren’s activities. He was known to his grandchildren as “grandpa candy” and never showed up to a sporting event without a pocket full of candy. He was always there to help anyone who needed it and never expected anything in return. He was a kind, hardworking man who was adored by many. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
A memorial service for Kerry will be held on his birthday, Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 10am at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. US Hwy 85/87, Fountain, CO 80817.
