Maria Powell

11 February 1950-1 April 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, Maria Guerrero Powell, at the age of 75 on 1 April 2025. She was our guiding light and source of endless love, a true inspiration, joyful, caring, and compassionate soul. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her laughter, resilience, and her genuine love for family and friends alike. Born on 11 February 1950 in California to the parents of Maria Mata and Manuel Guerrero. Maria was a beloved wife to Fred James Powell for 45 plus years, and a devoted mother to her four children, Prescilla Powell, Mary Esther Llamas, Fred J Powell, Christina Cairo, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is currently survived by her current husband Billy ‘Bill’ Orman. My mother was full of life and possessed a cheerful spirit that was so infectious to others. She brightened up any room she walked in and was never shy to introduce herself to strangers. As a deeply caring person she always was concerned if you had enough to eat, clothes to wear, or a place to rest your head. Not just to family or friends, but anybody she came across that was in need, a true Warrior of God. My mother’s passion was without a doubt her grandkids. She lived and worked hard to provide for them, from an early age to adulthood. Even as she battled cancer she never stopped providing for her grandkids. She was instrumental in keeping our family together and taught us to love one another unconditionally and be forgiving. Her legacy has not ended, it will continue through her kids and grandchildren. Every laugh, smile, and heartfelt moment will be a reminder of her presence within us. We were so blessed to have her in our lives, we will always cherish her memories to our last breaths. Rest easy mama, we got it from here.

Her celebration of life will be held at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S US HWY 85-87, Fountain, CO 80817 on 9 April 2025 at 1:00pm.
