

Mark Melvin Abeyta (Papa), a long-time resident of Fountain, Colorado, passed away on May 17th, 2024. Mark was born in Saguache, Colorado on June 13th, 1954 to Lena and Augustine, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Bulah, Beatrice, Joseph, Russell (Carmen), Leroy (Lee), Grandmother Esther Atencio and daughter Laticia. He is survived by his sister Mitzi (Larry). He also leaves behind his beautiful wife Debbie, son Christopher (Alexandra) and his granddaughters Amiah and Rheanna, daughter Lea Abeyta-Delehoy, son Robert Abeyta and numerous grandchildren; nephews Adam, David, Quinton and Brad, nieces Tina, Nicole Abeyta, Lorena (Miguel) Gonzales and long time close friends.
He graduated from Canon City High School before joining the U.S. Army. After his service he went on to work for the City of Fort Collins, where the retired after 20 years of service. He met his spouse Debbie in 2002 in Fountain, Colorado, where they raised a family together.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Papa.
He was passionate about family, his many fur babies and was a die-hard Denver Broncos fan. He enjoyed teaching and playing with his grandchildren. He loved working alongside his honey, Deb, preparing home cooked meals that consisted of fried chicken, beans, rice, tortillas and his favorite drink Pepsi and no potato soup.
Papa was a loving and compassionate man and will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
