Salvador Mercado

He is survived by his wife Catherine Mercado, his daughter Kira Green and his son-in-law Darrell Green. He is also survived by his grandchildren Josyas, Ezrah, and Ximira Green. He also leaves behind his brother Willie and sisters Wanda, and Liz, as well as a half sister Irma and half brother David. He has joined his parents Salvador Mercado and Isabel Martinez in heaven.

Salvador was retired from the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant. He loved his family and loved to do fun activities with his grandkids. He was a big NY Yankees fan and loved to watch sports. He also played sports such as softball, racquetball and loved to skydive. He worked for the USAG commander on Ft. Carson as a Safety Manager. He worked for civil service for over 10 years. He will be remembered as a great husband, father, grandfather and rose model for many friends and family. He will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at Ft. Carson Soldier’s Memorial Chapel, Bldg 1500 Martinez St. Ft. Carson, CO on Wednesday September 19th at 2:30 P.M.
