Solema F. Borrego

Solema Borrego, 87, affectionately known as “Sally”, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away November 20, 2020, at her nursing facility. She was born to Cornelio and Josefa (Vigil) Fresquez on May 4, 1933 in Tercio, Colorado. Solema married Louis A. Borrego Sr., on July 5, 1952 in Trinidad, Colorado.

Solema was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and Catholic. She enjoyed being a homemaker, time with family members, cooking, reading, needlework and traveling. She grew up in the tiny town of Starkville, Colorado. As an Air Force wife of 20 years, she lived and traveled to numerous locations with Colorado Springs becoming their cherished home for 48 years. They continued to travel, once they retired. To celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary, they took a cruise to the Panama Canal.

She was married for 68 years to Louis A. Borrego Sr., who passed away on November 30, 2020. Along with her loving children: Louis A. (Karen) Borrego Jr. of Houston, TX., Christina R. (Bradford) Pfeif of Colorado Springs, CO., Epifanio David (Mary) Borrego of Morrison, CO; 5 grandchildren: Lori (Jim) Myers, Clayton Borrego, Chad (Stephanie) Pfeif, Shawna (her fiancée James Schutt) Pfeif, Natasha (her fiancée Isabel Lozano) Borrego; 5 great-grandchildren: Brinkley (her fiancée Barcley Roberts) Myers, Macy (Deontrae) Cooper, Mathew Borrego, Harper and Dawson Pfeif; 1 great-great grandchild, Bru Roberts. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

Solema was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jose Maximo Onesimo Fresquez “Max” and Jose Erminio Fresquez “Herman”, infant daughter Irene Ernestine Borrego and grandson Jason Bradford Pfeif.

Rosary, Mass and burial will be a private event with family.
