

Yvan Laurent Gauvin was born August 10, 1938 in Magog, Quebec Canada to Giles Gauvin and Hermine Gauvin (Foisy), who both proceeded him in death.
Yvan married Lise Gauvin (Lavoie) in 1958 who proceeded him in death in 1977. He married Linda Gauvin (Wheeler) in 1979 who proceeded him in death in 2007.
Yvan became a resident of Colorado Spring in 1967 while stationed at Fort Carson. His love for the Colorado Mountains is what made him decide to call Colorado home. He had 20 years of military service and then had nearly 20 additional years as a Civil Service employee at the United States Air Force Academy. After his retirement he enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling with his family and friends. He enjoyed being present for his grandchildren’s school and sporting activities and was their biggest fan.
Yvan is survived by his four daughters, Carolle Hines (David), Sylvie Cimino (Larry), Sally Minnehan (Allan), Korene Andersen (Corey). Grandchildren, Tony, Carlos, Christopher, Dalton, Elise, Nicholas, Jennifer, Kristina, Taylor, and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Edouard, Pierre, and Maurice, four sisters Yolande, Gisele, Madeleine, and Louise. He leaves behind his beloved dog Nakita and many friends.
Services: Tuesday August 11, 2015 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm for visitation and rosary at Dove Witt, Hwy 85-87.
Wednesday August 12, 2015 10:00 am St Dominic Church, Hwy 85-87.
Burial with full military honors will follow at 2:15 pm, Fort Logan Cemetery.
