

Col. Palenscar was a career military officer in the United States Air Force for over 30 years. After his retirement from the Air Force in 1972, he worked for the Baltimore County States Attorney’s office until the late 1990’s. Alex loved the outdoors, which included sailing on his sailboat the Seawyfe, scuba diving, and wind sailing. Of course, his greatest love was his wife of 67 years Franny.
He is survived by his Daughter, Mimi; grandsons, Alex, Jim and wife, Renee, and Jeff and his Amy; granddaughter, Kate and husband, Jim; and two great granddaughters, Julia and Grace.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Kelemen Palenscar and a son, Alexander “Doc”.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Fredericksburg, VA on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM, with the family receiving friends and hour prior to the service at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, VA. Burial will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
