Alfred Dwight Callihan passed away peacefully on December 12, 2021 at his home at the age of 81 years old in Fredericksburg, VA. Survived by his loving wife Judy of 62 years. Lovingly remembered by his children Jeffrey (wife Dawn), Kristina (husband Glen), and late son Michael (wife Pam); grandchildren Tyler (husband Byron), Davey (wife Emily), Ryan, Kara (husband Walker), Justin, Tristan (wife Elizabeth), Hannah and Anna; great-grandchildren Brantley, Emma Kate and Weston. Beloved lap dog Gracie. Grand-furbabies Turbo, Diesel, Brody, Rocky, Freckles, Bella, Lizzy, Oscar, Chelsea, Pearl, and Danzig.
Alfred, better known as “Papal” or “Al,” loved his family and racing. He was a master mechanic since he was 14 years old and owned Broadview Service Center in Warrenton, Virginia for 10 years. Al was born and raised in Martinsburg, PA but spent most of his life in the DMV area. He loved to tell stories and knew no stranger. His whole life he worked around cars and everything racing. He supported his son’s motocross racing in both District 7 and District 13. If he was at the track, you knew him.
Loved by all and will be missed by many. There will be a Celebration of Life at Dominion Speedway, in Thornburg, Virginia at a future date.
