I worked with Carl when he ran the engine lab at General
 Environments in the 70's. I was recently reminiscing and Carl came to mind so I googled him and was sorry to find the obituary, I remember Carl being  the happiest when he was getting ready for his motorcycle trip.I remember him being so even tempered that the only way you knew that he was anticipating the trip was the great big smile. Carl was a good man, I enjoyed working with him
and the world is a sadder place without him. I regret that I did'nt have the information in time to have attended his service.

I always thought Carl was a great guy. He was always interesting to talk to and I remember him from the bonfires as we sledded down Graham street on snowy nights.  Your family has always been great neighbors. He will be missed.

Every time you click your seatbelt,  think of Carl Garrison.  He was instrumental in developing the demonstrations that led Congress to require seat belts, resilient bumpers and, eventually, air-bags.  

Since those days, Carl has always been the go-to guy if you didn't understand something technical--and he always had time to explain it to you.   With that farm-boy background,  and a world of experience in many different jobs,  he knew more of the practical world than most graduate engineers.

The world is lessened now by his absence and I know my life will be.   He was a good friend,  for 45 years.

I am so very sorry to hear of Carl's passing. I worked with him at North Anna Power Station many years ago.  I've also enjoyed keeping in touch with him since his retirement via email. I will surely miss this kind, sweet man. Prayers for all of his family during this sad time.

 Though my shared time with Carl was short , I have only had the very best of memories of Carl. A more decent man I do not know . I enjoyed immensely our time at National Technical Systems both work and casual interaction, Carl was a character with a quick wit and warmth toward all. God Bless you all and rest assured the Lord has him in his arms now, RIP

I am so sad about Uncle Carl's passing. So, happy my husband and I got the chance to visit him and Aunt Gail this past Fall.   

When we were there, my husband asked about this neat lamp in their living room.   Uncle Carl, with a BIG grin on his face, happily told us the story of his One-of-a-kind lamp and we listened in awe.   He had so many great stories to tell. He helped me in so many ways, I cannot begin to explain.   He was truly an amazing man and we will all miss him.

The loss of Carl is a huge one. He possessed such a rare mixture of knowledge, common sense, intuition, compassion, patience, loyalty, kindness, generosity, as well as a certain easiness and a sense of humor to rival anyone I have ever encountered. He was like a magician when it came to solving problems. He made electronics look easier than digging a hole. I was always a bit jealous of his vast array of knowledge. But he was always willing to share that knowledge if you asked him to. I will always remember when our band used to practice in his basement. Both he and his lovely bride Gail put up with us two or three nights a week. They both would say that they enjoyed having us there. I would never accuse them of fibbing to us, but there had to have been times when the shear volume of it all must have been pretty hard to live with. Those times in that little basement are some of the best memories of my life and I am forever grateful to the entire Garrison family for so kindly making them possible.  I consider myself extremely fortunate to have had Carl as well as his wonderful family as my friends. My deepest sympathy his family and his friends. There will probably never be another quite like him and he will be greatly missed.

I was so sad when I heard this.  Carl was one of the kindest people ever!!!  I will never forget his visits to GTL.  He always came with Paul's Bakery donuts and a Big Smile!!  My thoughts and prayers are will all of you.  Love, Debbie

I worked with Carl as a camera assistant at the Insurance Institute Lab in Fredericksburg in the late 70's, crashing all makes of cars to test for safety and durability.    He had a great sense of humor, a good way of motivating people and he was an impressive technical engineer.

So sorry to hear of Carl's passing. I only knew him for a very short time but I enjoyed his stories and memories that he shared with me. My thougts are with you Gail, Kim, Sonny and Shane.
